

Winifred Carlotta Phillips also known as Winnie and Aunt Win. She was 89 years of age, of Pembroke Pines, Florida and passed away on Sunday 15th April 2018.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday 28th April 2018 at Fred Hunter's, 6301 Taft Street, Hollywood, FL 33024. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Fred Hunter's.
Winifred was born in St. Elizabeth, Jamaica on 6th April 1929. She graduated from Camperdown high school in Kingston, Jamaica.
Winifred worked at Millholland Ashenime & Stone lawyers, Kingston, Jamaica as secretary, then went off to England and worked as a secretary at the Hoveringham Gravel Company. After her short spell in England, she returned to Jamaica and worked at Bryden & Evelyn in Kingston as secretary. She emigrated to the US in 1978 and lived in New Jersey, where she worked as an accounts advisor at Wachovia-Wells Fargo bank. After she retired from banking, she moved to Century Village, Pembroke Pines in August 2001.
In retirement, she travelled frequently to California to visit her nephew, she enjoyed playing roulette at the casino and had a keen interest in cross word puzzles.
Winifred was the youngest of 6 siblings. Her brothers and sisters were Kenneth, Louise, Joseph, Kathleen and Reggie, and she was the last survivor of this group.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF). The Phillips family wishes to thank the visiting staff of Catholic Hospice Broward and the medical and nursing staff at Memorial West hospital, Pembroke Pines.
