Winston George McBean 9/6/1937- 10/2/2026
It is with profound sadness and loving hearts that we announce the passing of a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, musician, and friend. A gentle and kind man with a love for life, a passion for music, and an unwavering devotion to his family, he leaves behind a legacy that will live on through the many lives he touched.
His journey began in Jamaica, where his early years were shaped by hard work, determination, and an entrepreneurial spirit. Throughout his early life, he worked for the Banana Board and the Kingston Wharf, while also pursuing his passion for music. Even then, music was more than a pastime; it was a calling that would remain a constant thread throughout his life.
In the early 1960s, he took an important step toward building his future when he opened his first business—a small grocery store in Grenwich Farm, Jamaica. Through hard work, perseverance, and a natural gift for business, he continued to expand his ventures. In the late 1960s, he built the family's first home in Spanish Town, Jamaica, establishing a place where family, memories, and togetherness could flourish.
His entrepreneurial spirit led him to open several small businesses, including a grocery store, a bar, a betting shop, and a small chicken farm. Each venture reflected his determination to provide for his family and create a better future for those he loved. He was a man who believed in working hard, building something meaningful, and making the most of every opportunity.
In the early 1980s, he and his family embarked on a new chapter in the United States. Settling into life in South Florida, he continued to demonstrate his strong work ethic through his employment with the City of Pembroke Pines. Yet, no matter how busy life became, his love for music never faded.
A gifted, self-taught, and passionate musician, he continued performing at various venues, sharing his musical talents with audiences and bringing people together through the universal language of music. Over the years, he gained many more fans and friendships, leaving lasting impressions wherever he played. Music was a part of his soul, and the joy he brought to others through his talent was one of the many gifts he leaves behind.
Beyond his accomplishments, businesses, and musical talents, what truly defined him was the man he was. He possessed a gentle spirit, a kind heart, and a genuine love for life. He never met a stranger. He had a way of making connections with people, building friendships, and creating memories that would endure long after the moment had passed.
Above all, family was at the center of his world. His life was a testament to perseverance, love, and the importance of creating a lasting foundation for those who would follow. His presence, his warmth, his music, and his quiet kindness will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He leaves to cherish his precious memory his beloved wife, Dulcie; his eleven children; his sister, Ann; his brother, Lloyd; and a loving extended family that includes numerous nieces and nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and cousins. He also leaves behind countless friends, devoted fans, and all those whose lives were enriched by his kindness, friendship, and music.
His passing leaves a void that words cannot fully express, but the memories he created, the family he nurtured, and the music he shared will continue to be a source of comfort and pride for generations to come.
His love for life, his gentle spirit, and his deep love of family will never be lost to those who were blessed to know him. Though he may no longer be with us in body, his melody will continue to play in our hearts, his lessons will live on through his family, and his legacy will remain woven into the lives of all who loved him.
He lived a life of purpose, worked with determination, loved with sincerity, and shared his gift of music with the world. His song may have come to an end here on earth, but its melody will echo in our hearts forever.
Rest peacefully. Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure, and your love a legacy that will never fade.
Family and friends are invited to come together to celebrate his remarkable life, share cherished memories, and honor the man whose kindness, love, and music brought so much joy to others.
