Visitation service will be held at Memorial Baptist Church, 1634 Paris Rd, Columbia, MO 65201 on Thursday, February 16, 2023 from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm. Funeral service will be held on Friday, February 17, 2023 at 11:00 am at Debo Funeral Home 10920 Old US Hwy 54, Holts Summit, MO 65043 . Burial will follow at New Bloomfield Cemetery.
Carolyn was born in New Bloomfield, Missouri on October 5th, 1940, the daughter of Dan and Mildred (Taylor) Wilson. She graduated from New Bloomfield High School and continued on to receive an Associate Degree from Columbia College and a Bachelor's of Science in Elementary Education from University of Missouri, Columbia. Carolyn was married to Bruce Everett Gamet, Jr. on June 9, 1962; they were married 38 years.
Carolyn worked as a teacher in Jefferson City, Missouri for a number of years. She was actively involved in the Memorial Baptist Church choir, P.E.O. (recently celebrated her 50th Gold Anniversary) and was a member of the New Bloomfield Cemetery Association and the New Bloomfield Area Historical Society. She also actively supported collegians through her sorority, Alpha Delta Pi.
Carolyn is survived by Susan (Gamet) Torgerson (daughter), Cole Torgerson (grandson), and Jack Torgerson (grandson).
Carolyn is preceded in death by Bruce Everett Gamet, Jr. (spouse), Dan and Mildred Wilson (parents), William Wilson (brother), and Bruce Wilson (brother).
