Matthew Walter Kowalewski, 78, of Holts Summit, Missouri, passed away on March 30, 2016 at his home.
Matthew was born on February 21, 1938 in New York to William and Betty Mentick Kowalewski and they preceded him in death. He was married to Barbara Alden on February 19, 1990 in San Diego, California and she survives.
Matthew served in the United States Air Force and retired from the United States Postal Services in 2000. Matthew also worked for six years at Scholastic in Jefferson City.
He was a member of St. Andrews Catholic Church in Holts Summit.
In addition to his wife, Barbara, he is also survived by a son, Byron Bensman of Corcoran, California; daughter, Tonya Bensman of Buffalo, New York; brother, Pete Pfander of Valley Center, California; sister, Jeanette Hatchell of LeMesa, California; granddaughters, Lillian and Alyssa Bensman and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be Sunday, April 10, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. during church services at Harvest Time Ministries in Holts Summit.
