He was born July 24, 1940 in Alpena, AR, the son of the late Helen Jean Buell. On February 14, 1969 he married Gail Butler in Granite City, IL. She survives of the home.
Ron is survived by two sons, Marc R. Cisco (Anastasia) and Scott J. Cisco (Sara) both of Jefferson City; one daughter Elaine J. A. Schaben (Bryan) of Holts Summit; four grandchildren, Mason R. Cisco, Autumn G. Cisco, Lauren A. Cisco, and Mallory E. Cisco, all of Jefferson City. One brother Robert L. Smith of Nampa, ID. And one sister, JoAnn Lee of Sacramento, CA.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Ron after graduating from college, he received his master’s degree from Ball State University. In 1961 he enlisted in the Army, attained the rank of E 6 then entered into Officers Candidate School, and in April 1967 graduated as a 2nd Lt. from Ft. Gordon, GA. He attained the rank of Major upon retiring after 20 years of service. Ron was a life member of the American Legion, VFW, and the NRA. He was a photographer and loved to hunt, fish, and travel. Ron was a former Grand Master of Masonic Lodge 236 of Sedalia, MO and a 32 degree Scottish Rite Shriner. Utilizing his skills learned in Signal Corps training, he established and owned RadioWire.net. He was a member of the Kingdom of Callaway Chamber of Commerce and MO Chamber of Commerce.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon, Thursday, December 26, 2013 at the Debo Funeral Home in Holts Summit with Celebrant Linda Backes officiating. Family will receive friends on Thursday morning from 10 AM until time of service. Masonic service will be held at 11:40 AM. Burial will follow in Callaway Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
