William "Bud" Warren Lester

A Gathering for family and friends will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at Debo Funeral Home in Holts Summit, Missouri.

Bud was born October 23, 1948 in San Marcos, Texas to Mack and Mary Jane Jackson Lester. He was married on November 25, 1968 to Anne McNaughton from Marshall, Missouri. Bud was a 1967 graduate of Marshall High School and worked for the Columbia Missouri Postal Service for 41 years. He was an active member of the A.P.W.U. He enjoyed fishing and gardening but his greatest love was spending time with his grandchildren.

Bud is survived by his wife, Anne of New Bloomfield; sons, Warren (Mona) Lester and Jeffrey Lester all of New Bloomfield and John (Laura) Lester of Jefferson City, Missouri; brothers, Mack Lester of Martindale, Texas, Lonnie Lester of Essex Junction, Vermont, Jackie Lester of Edgewater, Florida, Randy Lester of Austin, Texas and Patrick Countryman of Ipswich, Massachusetts; sister, Diane Nichols of Wimberly, Texas; grandson, Ian Lester of Jefferson City; step-granddaughters, Cassandra (Nick) Lawhon of Smithville, Missouri and Kelley Winfrey of Holts Summit; step-great-grandsons, Nicholas and Nathaniel Lawhon, both of Smithville, Missouri and Cody Horstman of Holts Summit along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Mack Lester; mother, Mary Jane Jackson Countryman and step-granddaughter, Laura “Katey” Winfrey.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society or American Diabetes Association.
