Born Anna Faye LeFever on October 15, 1924 in Palatine, Illinois, the only daughter of seven children born to the late Claude and Charlotte St. John LeFever.
Anna was a 1942 graduate of the Homer Academy and, after working as a telephone operator during the War, she and Larry built their home on the hill and raised their family. She was a devoted wife, a supportive and loving mother and a dear and caring sister and friend. Anna was always busy with her children’s activities and sports, active in community groups, and a longtime, faithful member of the Homer First United Methodist Church.
An excellent seamstress who had a lifelong passion for sewing, Anna’s creations, from slipcovers and drapes to dresses and quilts, were displayed in many area homes and in public buildings and churches, as well as at proms and weddings. A doting grandmother and great grandmother, she loved to watch the sports and shows her grandchildren performed in, beat them at card games, and took great joy in their accomplishments.
Surviving are her three children, Bill R. (Jean) Miles of Penfield, NY; Anita (David) Rees of Alameda, CA and Steven A. Miles of Manlius; six grandchildren, two great grandchildren, her brother, James (Rena) LeFever of Virgil as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mrs. Miles was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence R. Miles in 2009 and by five brothers, Glenn, Willard, George, Leo and Max LeFever.
Funeral services will be held at Noon on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at the Homer First United Methodist Church, 16 Cayuga St., Homer, with Pastor Suzanne Block officiating.
The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday from 11:00a.m. until the time of the service.
