

He was born February 11, 1959 in Syracuse, a son of Donald H. and Viola Baker Harmon.
Doc faithfully served seven years in the U.S. Army and was Honorably Discharged in 1987.
He worked for 11 years as a diesel mechanic for George W. Banks Trucking, Homer.
Doc was a member of the Burns-McCauliffe Post #465 American Legion of Homer. His favorite pastimes were NASCAR, camping, motorcycles, landscaping and riding his bicycle but above all else he loved his family and had many dear friends.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his daughter; Kelley N. Harmon (Jim Albro); his mother, Viola M. Harmon; his soul mate of 5 years, Mary A. Johnson, all of Cortland; his siblings, Brenda L. Ruddy of Homer; Patti A. Bieber (Edward Mack) of Tully; David P. (Laurie) Harmon of Ocala, FL; and Elizabeth O. (John) Snyder of Tully. Also surviving are his two grandchildren, Caton J. Harmon and Rheannah N. Albro; nieces and nephew, Krystal Root, Mechelle Harmon, Melissa Harmon, Megan Harmon, Justin Engelhart, Kira Ludwig; as well as Mary’s sons, Jeremy and David Johnson.
He was predeceased by his father Donald H. Harmon in 1992.
The family will receive friends at the Homer American Legion, 63 South Main St., Homer on Friday, October 21, 2011 from 4-8p.m.
