

A lifelong area resident, she was born May 9, 1939 in Cortland, the daughter of the late Ruth Vandenburg and Raymond Kniffen.
She worked over the years for Smith Corona, Buckbee Mears and the Pine Grove Inn.
Rosie enjoyed bird watching, ceramics, crocheting, knitting and bowling.
Surviving are her three children, Gerry (Barbara) Seamans of Cortland; Sandra (David) Curtis of Lisle and Sharon (Timothy) Stevens of Cortland; six grandchildren, Julie (Bill) Conklin, Joe (Alanna) Seamans, Katy (Eric) Shaul, Brett Stevens, Gregory Curtis and Emily Curtis and two great grandchildren, Izabella and Jaymisen Conklin. Also surviving are her siblings; Ruthann Griffiths, Raymond (Phyllis) Kniffen, Lucretia (Art) Loveless, Richard (Marie) Kniffen, Jean Sherman and Brenda Young; a special niece, Diane; very special friends, Winnie Enders and Doreen Moore as well as her beloved dog, Lady and her cats, Miss Daisy and Smokey.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 11, 2012 in Glenwood Cemetery, Homer, with Pastor Archie Smith officiating.
In keeping with Rosie’s wishes there is no calling hours.
