
He was born May 4, 1932 in Freetown, a son of the late Ivan and Jane Vandermark Hulbert.
Bill was honorably discharged from the US Army, where he served from 1954-1956, primarily in West Germany.
He loved being and working in the woods, whether it be cutting wood or camping. He also enjoyed listening to country music.
Surviving is his wife of 16 years, Jeanne M. Gleason Hulbert of Cortland; two daughters, Billi Carol (John) Gizzi of Homer and Josana (John) Berry of Cortland; a son, Joel (Stacy) Romaine of Clifton Springs, NY; his grandchildren, Christopher and Angela Gizzi; Brittany Gage, Betty Jeanne Berry, Lawrence Berry, Jonathan Berry, Seairra Eaton and Ryan Gleason. Also surviving are two great grandchildren, two sisters, Margaret Sackett of Maryland; Caroline Anderson of Florida; his brother, Carl (Evelyn) Hulbert of Cortland and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Bill was predeceased by two sons, Shel and Scott Hulbert.
Graveside services, with Military Honors, will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, August 31, 2012 in Cortland Rural Cemetery, 110 Tompkins St., Cortland.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, August 30, 2012 from 7-9 p.m. at the Donald
L. Barber Funeral Home, 5016 N. Main St., Homer.
Memorial contributions in Mr. Hulbert’s name may be made to a Veterans organization of your choice.
