William D. Small

Born in Syracuse on October 29, 1943, a son of the late Lloyd and Vera Evora Small.

Bill’s love for being a baker landed him many jobs in bakeries in Syracuse, and throughout several states on the east coast. He retired in 2008 as a baker at SUNY Cortland.

He is survived by two daughters, Kathy Jo K. Small (Matt Libbey) of Blodgett Mills, NY and Cindy S. (Jeffrey) Edwards of Cortland, NY; four sons; William D. (Sue) Small, Jr. of Texas; Anthony J. (Alicia) Small of Mexico, NY; Dennis J. (Jamie) Small of Lansing, NY and Matthew S. (Tammy) Small of Homer, NY; twenty-two grandchildren, one great grandchild, two brothers, Lloyd C. (Joann) Small of Minoa, NY; Thomas Berger of Baldwinsville; NY and a sister, Ann Raice of Liverpool, NY as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Bill was predeceased by a son, Timothy M. Small in 2001 and a daughter, Michelle Creese in 2006.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, September 26, 2012 in Glenwood Cemetery, Rt. 281, Homer, NY.

In keeping with Bill’s wishes, there will be no calling hours.
