

Bonnie Gail Rouse Posner
Bonnie Gail Rouse Posner, age 60, passed away peacefully at her Florida City home on July 9, 2011 with her best friend and her beloved cats at her side. Bonnie was an accomplished artist whose many awards attested to her skill. Her strong, independent spirit drew to her many close friends and artist colleagues. Aspiring artists often gathered at her home to learn techniques and to share ideas amid her beautiful portraits and landscapes. She gave unselfishly of her time and talent to help others experience the beauty of art. She was a member of the library staff at Florida International University for over 30 years. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Neil Posner, her parents, John and Gail Rouse, and her brother, David Rouse. She is survived by her brothers, John, Don, and Richard Rouse; niece Wendy Peavy; nephews Jeffrey, Bryan, and Robert Rouse; and eight great nieces and nephews. A memorial service for Bonnie will be held 3:00 pm Saturday, July 16, 2011 at the Branam Funeral Home in Homestead. Her cremains will be buried near her parents and brother in Spring Hill, Florida. The family wishes to especially thank Dotty Woody, Claudia Edwards, and the many friends who were there for Bonnie when she most needed them. In lieu of flowers, well-wishers may consider the needs of Humane Society, Catholic Hospice, and American Cancer Society.
