

David passed away on July 11th after a long battle with kidney disease. He leaves behind three children; Debbie LaPlant, David M. Perez and Angie Breugelmans, their sister Andrea Orbegozo, five grandchildren; Jack, Isabella, Ava, Aiden and Elsa, and son-in-laws Chris LaPlant and Sander Breugelmans.
David was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. At the age of 17 he enlisted in the US Airforce, where he served as a radio operator for six years, both at home and abroad in Turkey. He was subsequently commissioned by the United Nations to help set up radio facilities in Europe. Upon his return to New York, David began his career with AT&T, where he remained a loyal employee for 33 years. In 1974 he relocated with his family to Miami, where he remained for the rest of his life.
David loved horse-racing, movies, baseball, fishing, animals, all things New York and music; especially Jim Croce, Simon & Garfunkel, Dion, Santana, Foreigner, Andrea Bocelli, Gypsy Kings, Paul Simon, Ottmar Liebert and Robert Palmer. He was a caring, patient, and supportive father, and a proud and doting grandfather. He will be greatly missed.
David had a special place in his heart for animals in need. If you wish, please contribute to the Humane Society of Miami in his memory.
