Mary, Pat and I send our deepest condolences for your loss.   I know that you took great care of your mother for many years.  I know she knows how blessed she was to have a daughter like you. Anna and Mary,
You are both in my thoughts and prayers.  Aunt Eleanor was such an inspiration to me and I have such fond memories of spending the night at your house, eating her scrumptious Southern cooking, and playing outside behind your house!  I even have very fond memories of playing at your Methodist Church while we were waiting for Aunt Eleanor to finish all her church responsibilities. As an adult I loved walking my children to 18th Street to visit with both Aunt Eleanor and Uncle John.

You are both so fortunate to have been raised by such a warm Christian lady. What a blessing to have had her for 96 years!

We join with my other family members in sending our condolences, Mary.  She was always so interesting to engage in conversation, and I know was loved by my (late) brother Tom.  We will all miss her.  Bob and Barb in San Diego.

What a special lady.  I remember her from South Dade High School and the Homestead Hospital.  She was so kind.  Sincere sympathies.  Linda Steele Mills.

Yes, I remember Mrs Whichard.  A pleasant person in the South Dade HS office.  Sorry for your loss, Anna Margaret and Tallulah.  I'm sure she had great influences on your lives and helped to make the beautiful and kind-hearted girls, then women you became.

My family was fortunate enough to be part of Eleanor and John's extended "family," and throughout my childhood, and beyond, they were like another mother and father to me. Bless them both, and may Mary and Anna and their families find peace and understanding in this difficult time.

What a wonderful tribute to your mom, Mary!  The photo gallery brings back so many wonderful memories.  I remember all those stages that our parents went through (and us as well).  I will always treasure the times spent at your house... spending the night, listening to you play the piano, eating Miss Eleanor's wonderful cooking!  Your mom and dad were such special people... two of the sweetest people I have ever known.  Their strong faith, generosity, and devotion to each other and to you had a strong impact on my life.  I think of her and that little "twinkle" in her eye.  I'm so grateful to them and so thankful that you are still such a dear friend.  I know you will really miss your mom so much.  But you will carry parts of Miss Eleanor and Mr. John with you always.  May you have peace and joy in knowing that her suffering is over and that they are together again in Heaven.

Hope all your special happy memories will help you hang in there and remember to smile during the pain.  Know that we in the Ledford family are family too and will always remember just how special your mom was and is to all of us.  We love you.   Larry and John
