He was born in New Jersey –the son of Gerard and Catherine Germaine.
He had been a resident of Homestead Florida with his wife, Susan Germaine since 1969.
He is survived by his wife, Susan; his children Marsha and Jerry; and his grandchildren, Anastasia, Brenden and Kayden.
Jerry also has family in Colorado and New Jersey that include his brothers Ken, Glenn, Joe, and Gerard and sisters, Susan and Cathy with numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
Jerry worked as an auto mechanic for over 40 years and anyone who worked with him knew that he didn’t just “fix the parts” and would often take the entire machine apart just to put it back together again.
Over the years, his hands also created art, amazing Halloween costumes and formal dresses, built and re-upholstered furniture, and held newborn babies with love and tenderness.
He survived Hurricane Andrew and helped many in our neighborhood through that traumatic experience.
Jerry will be missed by friends and family everywhere, and remembered fondly.
The family has asked that you understand that they are following his wishes and are not having any services.
You are welcome to sign the guestbook with your memories and words of love and support for the family during this difficult time.
