

to the late Leo and Clara Bell Quigley.Richard is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Vera. They were married Jan. 23, 1965 at George Air Force Base in Victorville, CA. Richard is lovingly remembered by his brother Ron (Jo Anne) Quigley of Corpus Christie, TX and his dear friend Joseph (Christy) Nevers and Joe's children, Carol (Billy) Bernier, Linda Nevers, Joseph (Norma) Nevers, Mark (Amanda) Nevers, Lynn (Larry) Daly, and Warren (Shujie) Breither. Joe and Pat's grandchildren became Vera and Richard's, Ashton, Dylan, Brooke, Lily, Iris, Alex, Otto,Victoria and Amelia. Preceded in death by his brother, John Quigley; and dear friend, Patricia Nevers.
Capt. Richard E. Quigley (Retired USAF) flew the USAF F-86's, F-104 with 20 years of service to his country, plus he was a Captain for Eastern Airlines flying the Lockheed L-188, Boeing 727 and Boeing B-757 for over 18,000 hours. He was a member of the MIA Hanger Quiet Birdmen. After retirement he joined the farming community of the Redlands, growing Avocados and Lychees on his grove.
A Celebration of Richard's Life took place at the Capri Restaurant, 935 N. Krome Ave., Florida City on Saturday, Aug. 30, 2014.
Burial with military honors will take place at Seaside Memorial Park in Corpus Christi, TX where he will be laid to rest next to his brother John.

We would like to thank the staff of Sunny Hills Nursing Home and Vitas Hospice for all the care and smiles you gave to Richard.
Richard loved flying, fishing, his dogs, singing, tinkering on the helicopter or plane. He had a very kind heart and quick wit and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. We have been blessed with so many memories and laughs.
