Carson was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the Aldersgate Sunday School Class. He previously served on the Trinity United Methodist Administrative Board and the Homewood City Council. Carson worked in the Construction Industry all his life which led him to live in many cities in the United States and overseas. He retired as a building inspector for Jefferson County. Carson had a love for cars and playing with his grandchildren.
Carson is survived by his wife, Martha S. Thompson; children, Cynthia Thompson Parris (Steve) and Lee Carson Thompson (Kelly); grandchildren, Helen, Jonathan, and Kate Parris, Reese and John Carson Thompson; brother, Charles Thompson and sister, Brenda Thompson Hager.
Friends are cordially invited to visit with the family from Noon until 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, the 25th of November. Friends and family will then be escorted to Elmwood Cemetery for a graveside service commencing at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of usual remembrances, memorials honoring the life of Alfred Carson Thompson may be directed to Trinity United Methodist Church Building Fund or to the charity of choice. Services are under the direction of Ridout’s Valley Chapel in Homewood.
