Alice Cook Hynds, 92, of Birmingham, Alabama passed away on June 2, 2016. She was born on September 20, 1923 in Pulaski, Tennessee. Alice is preceded in death by her husband, John Powell Hynds; daughter, Karen Hynds Charles; son-in-law, Billy Charles; her parents, brother and sister. She is survived by her son, J. Richard Hynds; granddaughter, Allison Charles; grandson, Matthew Charles (Laura Lee); great-granddaughter, Crawford Lee Charles; sister, Melba Davis; special family members, Kay, Tonia, Jonica, Ethan and Riley; along with many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Monday June 6th, 2016 at Ridout's Valley Chapel in Homewood from 12-1:30pm. Graveside service will be held immediately following at Forest Hill Cemetery in Birmingham, AL. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
