Annette “Nette” Ellen Johnson Schultz was born in Centuria, Wisconsin, on December 10th, 1932, where she and her three siblings (Myrtis, Arlene, and Alan) were raised by her loving parents, Reake Francis and Axel Edwin Johnson.
Annette was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Jerry Duane Schultz; sister, Arlene Hansen; brother, Alan Edwin Johnson; and granddaughter, Carrie Marie Henning. She is survived by one sister, Myrtis Green; one sister-in-law, Marion “Pinky” Froemming; 3 children, Scott (Diane) Schultz, Todd (LaDonna) Schultz, and Kris Anne Prosser; 8 grandchildren, Jill (Jason) Hartl, Jenna (Rob) Papes, Raechel Schultz, Ian Schultz, LaTasha (Ricci) Creamer, Jennifer (Chris) Vollmer, Duane Langston, and Keith Henning; 8 great grandchildren, Keller Hartl, Brannon Hartl, Mila Papes, Boone Creamer, Cade Creamer, Keller Henning, Cadence Henning, and Claire Henning; and many other family members and friends that were touched by her spunk, her silliness, and her devotion to family.
Nette’s wish to remain at their lake home until her passing became a reality as she passed peacefully into God’s loving arms while surrounded by her 3 children, 2 daughters-in-law, and her 2 dear caregivers on Tuesday, January 26, 2021.
In December of ‘55, Annette married her high school sweetheart, Jerry, in Centuria, Wisconsin and the happy couple were off to enjoy a lifetime of love and adventure!
Nette raised her family in Sarasota, Florida. She loved being mom to Scott, Todd, and Kris Anne. After the kids were grown, she went back to school and graduated with her LPN. The family moved to Athens, Georgia where she worked for many years as a labor and delivery nurse at Athens General Hospital. She even assisted at the delivery of one of her grandchildren’s birth. She also loved to travel and they went on many exciting trips around the world. Jerry’s work eventually brought them to find their dream location at Lake Martin in Stillwaters, Alabama. Annette worked until her retirement as a staff nurse for Dr. Klinner in the neighboring town of Opelika. While living there, they fell in love with their home and decided that would be where they would spend the rest of their lives together.
Although developing dementia in her later years, Annette never lost her lust for life, her wit nor her headstrong determination, her desire to travel, and most of all the precious time spent with family. She was happy spending her days enjoying the things she loved most: time outdoors, sipping hot coffee with a sweet treat, playing with her kitty cat and most of all spending time with her daughter, Kris Anne who moved in with her and lovingly cared for her these past five years. The love, time, and care that Nette received from family during these last difficult years shows just how bonded a family she helped to create. Her family is so thankful and grateful for the unsurpassed loving care and devotion of caregivers, Tammy Brooks and Brenda Parker.
She will be missed but she will never be forgotten as she lives on in the hearts of her family and dear friends.
There is no service scheduled now; however, there will be a celebration of Annette’s life at the lake this summer, the date to be determined.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to The Alzheimer's Association.
