Barbara Dill Kyle, 67, of Billings, Montana, passed away on August 21, 2025. Born in Birmingham, Alabama, on January 10, 1958, Barbara lived a life marked by quiet strength, creativity, and deep love for her family.
She attended Auburn University and later graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a degree in Medical Records. Barbara had a keen mind and a caring heart, dedicating much of her life to the service of others.
Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Dexter Delton Dill and Imogene Kent Dill. She is survived by her children, Richard Ingram Kyle Jr. and Amanda Kyle Edwards (Tyler); her cherished granddaughters, Ava Madison Edwards and Zoe Grace Edwards; and her brother, James Steven Dill (Carol).
An avid gardener, Barbara found joy and peace among her plants and flowers. She was rarely seen without a book — often more than one — and was a proud supporter of her local library. Her hands were seldom idle; she was talented in many crafts, especially counted cross-stitch and crochet. Her devotion to her pets was unwavering, and animals held a special place in her heart.
A memorial service will be held at Ridout’s Valley Chapel, 1800 Oxmoor Road, Homewood, Alabama, on September 4, 2025. Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm with a service to follow at 2:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Humane Society in Barbara’s memory — a tribute to her lifelong love of animals.
Barbara’s warmth, humor, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
