

Benny was a beloved husband to his wife Joyce, for 60 years. Attending Mountain Brook Grammar School and finishing high school in Auburn, AL, he also graduated with several degrees from Auburn University in Electrical Engineering and he served his country as a Naval Aviation Cadet in World War II.
He began his business career in 1948 with Anderson Electrical Company and later founded and was president of Electrical Specialties Product Company in Montevallo, AL. He influenced many and inspired others with his work ethic.
A long time member of Briarwood Presbyterian Church, he served as a Deacon, an Elder and as a member of Pastoral Care Ministries until his last days. Benny was known for his faith and love of his Lord Jesus Christ and Savior.
He will be remembered for his entertaining gift of gab, wit and love of yard work and gardening. Also he cherished spending time at his cabin on Lake Martin with his family and friends.
In celebration of Benny’s life a memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 19th at Briarwood Presbyterian Church. Visitation will be at 2:00 p.m. and a service at 3:00 p.m.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Ezell Kidd; sons, Brad Kidd of Springville, Jody Kidd of Douglassville, GA; daughter, Sherie Hodges (Sonny) of Chelsea, AL;sister, Evelyn Voight; 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Chris Kidd and brother Murray Kidd.
