Bernice Fowler Hill died suddenly on Tuesday, March 27, 2018. She is predeceased by her parents Ernest Hobson Fowler and Annie Turner Fowler and her husband William R. Hill. She is survived by her son Tim Morris and countless friends that she considered family.
Bernice first worked at The Birmingham News and spent her professional career in public relations. She served as Director of Public Relations for Goodwill Industries for over twenty five years. She held memberships in the Public Relations Council of Alabama, Public Relations Society of America, and American Women in Radio and Television. After retirement she received Master Gardener certification and enjoyed volunteering at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens and as a Docent at The Birmingham Museum of Art. She and her husband traveled extensively and especially loved trips with Bill Hill's Southern Company Services friends and fellow retirees.
Bernice loved gardening, cooking, and reading and was a member of several civic, garden, and social groups over the years. Most recently she enjoyed Antiquarians and Amulets Dance Club. She was a member of Canterbury Methodist Church.
Visitation for Bernice will be Tuesday, April 3, 2018 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Ridout's Valley Chapel in Homewood, AL. the service will follow at 2:00 PM. Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery.
