

Beverly was born to Richard and Beverly Puryear on May 10, 1935, in Selma, AL.
After graduating from Shades Valley High School in 1953, she attended Randolph-Macon College before transferring to Vanderbilt University where she completed her bachelor’s degree in biology.
While working in an anatomy lab at UAB, she met Henry Bright, Jr of Montgomery, AL. They first met on the steps of the dental school for a blind date and were married on August 21, 1958. Enjoying 66 years of marriage, they built a life together raising three children.
She is survived by her husband, Henry and children, Clay (Kim) of Nashville, TN, Andy (Janet) of Spokane, WA and Bea of Birmingham, AL, her sister Lynne Kent of Helen, GA. Also survived by her grandchildren Clay and Taylor Bright and Zoe, Bella & Jack Evans all of whom Mom cherished.
Beverly loved the Lord. She was a committed follower of Jesus and involved in many activities and ministries related to her faith.
Beverly was a devoted wife and mother. She invested her life in the care of her family, supporting her husband and raising three children. She loved talking about Jesus to family and spreading the word to anyone.
She maintained her joy until the end. As her memory failed, she could still recite hymns and passages of scripture. This was a comfort to her and an inspiration to her family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial can be made to a charity of your choice in Beverly’s name.
Visitation will be Saturday March 8th, 10:00 CST at Mountain Brook Baptist Church with Service to follow at 11:00. Graveside will be private.
