Billie Jeanne Ketchum

.BILLIE JEANNE (DANIEL) KETCHUM, 80, was born July 20, 1931 in Atlanta, GA and passed away November 4, 2011 in Birmingham, AL. She was the daughter of James Mallory Daniel and Nell (Aldridge) Daniel. She is preceded in death by her husband Robert Silk Ketchum, Jr. and survived by her three children and three children by marriage, Robert Mallory Ketchum and spouse Karen Linda (Leidholt) Ketchum, Laura Elizabeth (Ketchum) Bentley and spouse John Kenneth Bentley, Mary Catherine (Ketchum) Osmore and spouse Joseph Reginald Osmore; seven grandchildren, Michael Bradford Ketchum and spouse Christa Crow Ketchum, Kathryn Brooke (Ketchum) Heard and spouse Richard Kirksey Heard, Heather Michelle Ketchum and fiancé Taylor Stallings, Jason Aaron Bentley and spouse Susan Annette Smith Bentley , Joshua Lee Bentley, Christopher David Osmore, Cameron Daniel Osmore; and one great-grandchild, Kirksey Brooke Heard. She was a member of McElwain Baptist Church where she also taught kindergarten until her retirement in 2007. Her love for Christ and for her church and devotion to family and friends were an inspiration and beacon of joy in the midst of personal hardship and sacrifice. Memorials in Jeanne's honor may be made to the McElwain Baptist Church, McElwain Baptist Child Care, or McElwain Loving Touch at 4445 Montevallo Road, Birmingham, AL 35213. Special thanks to the Trinity Medical Center; MICU nurses and therapists, Drs. David Farrar and Anne-Laura Cook, Fair Haven Retirement Center;Dr. Tyler Stracener nurses, therapists, and staff; and Alacare Hospice. Services will be Saturday, November 5, 2011 at 2:00 PM with a time of visitation from 12:30 PM until 2:00 PM under the direction of Ridout’s Valley Chapel followed by burial at Elmwood Cemetery in Birmingham, AL.
