

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Mattie Cobb Walton; by his son, Shane Walton; by his grandson, Chase Walton; and by his sister, Betty Jordan.
Bill is survived by his wife, Dorothy Walton; two daughters, Christi Freeman (Steve) and Nici Morrison; five grandchildren, Stephanie Freeman, Justin Morrison, Ashley Kent (Walker), Sydnie Abbott (Daniel), and Lindsay Marsh (Ben). He is also survived by his four great grandchildren, Hadley Kent, Ellie Kent, Logan Kent, and Harper Marsh; and by his sister, Glenda Eggler (Charles).
Born on February 22, 1935, Bill served in the United States Air Force and was a member of Union United Methodist Church. He retired from General Electric after 30 plus years of service. After his retirement, Bill loved spending time with his family and friends. He had a shop where his friends gathered to tell stories, laugh, and to make and repair just about anything. This became known as the Pumpkin Swamp Country Club of which he enjoyed serving as President along with his good buddy and Vice President, Jerry Lewis.
Friends are cordially invited to visit with the family from ten o’clock in the morning until eleven o’clock in the morning on Wednesday, the 20th of April, at Union United Methodist Church at Chelsea Park located at 4321 County Road 32, Wilsonville, Alabama 35186. Funeral services will commence at eleven o’clock in the morning and will be conducted by Reverend Lynn Terry and Reverend Richard Moore, Bill’s brother-in-law. Burial will immediately follow in the adjoining cemetery.
