I was first introduced to Mr. Jackson about 29 years ago when he called to speak to "Mr. Drysdale" which is how he referred to my then President/CEO (who I quickly learned referred to Mr. Jackson as "Boss Hog")!  Through the years Mr. Jackson became as much a friend as a customer.  It was a delight to deal with such an honest, caring, Christian man.  He was a man of integrity, a man of his word.  I will greatly miss our long chats - not only about business, but about his family (particularly grandchildren), my family, and ministry.  The funeral was a perfect tribute to a Godly man.  I extend my heartfelt prayers for the entire family.

Byron was my classmate at the U.S.Merchant Academy, and was a person of lofty ideals and integrity. He is one of only 2 classmates with whom I am still in contact, the only person in our section to attend the 65th reunion in 2012. He was also a good family man and business man, loyal to his friends and always ready to engage people in conversation. His passing is a shock and a real loss to his family and those who loved him.

Mr. Jackson was a true friend and mentor to me both personally and professionally for many years.  He will be truly missed!  Praying for peace and comfort for his family and all those who knew and loved him.  May God replace your grief with laughter and fond memories and may we remember his Love for God and positive influence on others and pass it on.  I can hear him now, "If I were any better I couldn't stand it."

My sympathy to all of Carey's family.  Carey is my first cousin. His father, Byron, and my father, Maurice, were brothers. I have many fond memories of Carey and Jean and all of the family.  Carey took me on my first airplane ride at age 17 from Gvl,SC to Birmingham. Jean came once to our house with Lynn and stayed for a week with us. I was about 13. Lynn was 2. My sincere and deepest sympathy to all the family over the loss of this GOOD man. I knew him personally; as a man of GOD, excellent business man and co-worker at U.S.Steel. Spent many enjoyable dinner meals with him. He was truly my friend and I will sorely miss him.

PBC has lost one of it's finest, sweetest, most giving members.  We loved Mr. Carey and he was such a blessing especially to our VBS program.  He was always willing to help with the children.  We loved this man and will miss him so much.  I know he is in heaven playing with the children.

After hearing his son Mark boast on him for so many years, I finally had the opportunity to meet Mr. Jackson.  He was everything, and more, than his son described.  My prayers and thoughts are with his family during their time of loss.

Sorry to hear about Mr Jackson. Knew his wife all of my life. My wife goes in the Hosp. tomorrow will not make the service.

I am so sorry for your loss!  I was blessed to have known Mr Jackson.  He was a true gem of a person.  Praying for comfort!
