

Calvin Jonathan Clark, age 63, passed away early on November 16, 2016 after a 3-day battle with sepsis. Calvin was born and raised in Selma, Alabama by Calvin R. and Eleanor Clark, along with his older sister, Suzanne (Prosser). He was active in Boy Scouts, achieving the rank of Eagle Scout. He moved to Birmingham, Alabama after attending The University of Montevallo, then transferring to The University of Alabama in Birmingham and graduating with an Associate Degree in Applied Science from the Respiratory Therapy Program. Calvin worked at University Hospital and then South Highlands/HealthSouth Hospital until 2004. He married Andrea Mohon-Prestridge and they have one daughter, Katelyn Elizabeth (Clark) Cole, who resides in Birmingham with her husband Joshua. He is also survived by his mother, Eleanor Eslinger Clark of Selma, AL; sister, Suzanne Clark Prosser (Sherman Lee) of Wichita Falls, Texas; and two nieces, Holly Christina Prosser of Austin, Texas, and Michelle Marie Prosser, a student at The University of North Texas. A celebration of Calvin's life will be held at Valley Christian Church, 2600 Cherokee Place, Mountain Brook, Alabama, on Saturday, November 19th, at 11:00 a.m. Family will be receiving friends from 10:00 to 11:00 p.m. Graveside service to follow at Elmwood Cemetery.
