A visitation time for family and friends will follow the service at 11 a.m. Calvin is preceded in death by his parents O’Neal W. and Beatrice Aderholt Fleming. Calvin is survived by his wife, Donna Dees Fleming; sons David Fleming of Leeds, Alabama, and his son Camp Lamon Fleming; Adam Fleming (Natalie) of Hoover, Alabama, and their children, Mason Fleming, and Reese Fleming; stepson John Mark Mitchell (Lauren) of Trussville, Alabama, and their son Max Mitchell; and former wife Paula K. He was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather. Calvin was born in Alabama and lived most of his life here. He was a member of the Class of 1969 at Alexandria High School, Alexandria, AL, and attended Jacksonville State University. Calvin worked in the grocery business in many capacities beginning when he was 16, and made an unusual transition into the Insurance and Financial Services industry in 1979 with Protective Life. Calvin was one of the first Registered Reps with ProEquities, his Broker Dealer throughout his career. He won many trips with these companies and was a perennial qualifier for First Protective’s Elite Producer conventions. Calvin’s warm personality, along with his constant desire to learn and provide timely and accurate information to his clients grew his company. Fleming Financial Advisors is an independent financial services provider with clients in 15 states. Calvin was a trusted and respected financial advisor; his clients and business associates became his friends. Calvin was known for an amazing sense of humor and pursuing his leisure activities with zeal. He had a passion for snow skiing and was currently serving as President of The Birmingham Ski Club. He loved to read and was rarely without a book. Calvin was an avid hunter, scuba diver, and adored driving his beloved Corvette. He played golf, loved baseball, and learned to enjoy soccer because of his sons. These pursuits, along with business award trips, gave him ample opportunities to travel, which he relished. Calvin was deeply loved and will be missed by all who knew him. He savored all he could out of his life, and some of us were fortunate enough to savor it with him. Because of Calvin’s desire to help others, preserve nature, and promote reading, in lieu of flowers please send donations to The Jimmie Hale Mission, the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), or the Public Library of your choice.
