

Carol Lynn Dyer, born July 10, 1968, passed away November 20, 2015. She was the beloved daughter of Robert B. Dyer and Mary Ann Dyer and sister of Randy Dyer. She grew up in Homewood, AL, where she attended Dawson Memorial Baptist Church and participated in several youth sports leagues. She attended Hall-Kent Elementary School, Homewood Middle School and Homewood High School. She was a member of the Homewood High School girls’ basketball team, serving as a point guard. After graduation from high school, she attended Birmingham-Southern College, graduating in 1990 with a Bachelor of Science degree and a major in accounting.
Her career life began as an employee of Sonat, Corp. After the company sold, she continued her career at Vulcan Materials, serving as the head of the accounts payable department. She later served in that same capacity with Surgical Care Affiliates until her health required her to retire in 2013.
She was predeceased in death by her father, Bobby, who passed away in 2000. She is survived by her mother, Ann Dyer, her brother Randy and his wife Isabel, a niece, Sara Dyer, and two nephews, Cody and Jordan Dyer. She also leaves behind many dear friends who have given her exceptional support during her long illness. At the time of her death, she was a member of Bivins Chapel United Methodist Church. Visitation for Carol will be Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2015 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Ridout’s Valley Chapel in Homewood the funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM at Valley Chapel and burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery.
