She is survived by her son Harold Kinsey Brown, Jr. and wife Cindy, her grandson Kinsey Chad Brown, her daughter Tara Brown and husband Shaun Baker, and four brothers and sisters: John Keller (Myra), Don Keller (Carol), Dorothy Holloway (Terry), Rosalyn Wootten (Bob), and her beloved cat, Midnight.
Carolyn's life took her from Birmingham, Alabama to Lynn Haven, Florida, to Hawaii and back to Birmingham. Wherever she lived, she was involved in the community, whether playing the piano for veterans who enthusiastically sang their old favorite songs or volunteering at the library or playing the organ at the local church. Eventually, she moved to Episcopal Place, where she made many new and dear friends and joined groups such as The Book Club and Chair Yoga. She also played the piano for the chapel services and greatly enjoyed doing so.
Carolyn passionately loved to read and would be in the middle of several books at one time, explaining "I choose depending on my mood". She had an insatiable curiosity and always kept up with current worldwide news, politics and football, especially Tom Brady.
Carolyn had a joyful, gentle spirit and beautiful smile. She loved life and people of all backgrounds and took great pleasure in sharing her story and travels as well as hearing others tell theirs. She will be deeply missed and remembered for her humor, kindness, faith and delight in the simple things.
A celebration of life honoring Carolyn will be at St. Stepens Episcopal Church on the January 17, 2023 at 2:00 pm.
In lieu of giving flowers, the family requests that those who wish, please donate to Episcopal Place, Hope Hospice or St. Stephens Episcopal Church.
