Even though we didn't get to Charlie very often we always enjoyed our times with him. He was such an interesting person with such a kindness and gentleness about him. We loved his deep voice and always looked forward to seeing him at the Berlin reunions.... "checkpoint charlie" I called him... Margi and David Teagle

Dear Chris. I did not know of Charles's passing. I have only known him as a really good man and loads of fun whenever we were at your house or at the Frieds. He was a gracious host. Always in a good mood. I know he'll be missed.
Last thoughts and hugs.

Sorry to hear that Charlie had passed. Also sorry for not being able to come and sing for him with the Warblers. As long as his health allowed him he was one of our more faithful singers. He'll be sorely missed both for his voice and for himself.

Even though we went to Woodlawn at separate times, we became good friends later through Warbler Club reunions. He was a fine man; meant a lot to me and many others.

I will miss seeing Charlie drive past my house in the fall flying the AU War Eagle Flag on his vehicle. Charlie was a special friend to me and I will certainly miss him.

So glad our families got to share special holidays together over the years. Charles was always fun to be with and I loved that booming voice of his! He will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I am sorry to hear about Charlie. I was in the roofing business back in the 80s & 90s and did a lot of work for him then.
I meant to get in touch many times , but somehow the years just get away , an that I regret. Charlie was one of my favorite people, as he was honest and very straight forward and I always looked forward to a meeting with him.
May you find peace in knowing that so many thought so much of him. God bless.
