He was in the first graduating class from Lee High School in Montgomery, and went on to graduate from Auburn University with a degree in Industrial Engineering. He married the love of his life, Joellynn (Kennedy).
He is survived by his wife, Joellynn, children Charles Earl (Chuck) Heaton Jr (Debby), Jill Thomas (Mark), 5 grandchildren Charles Earl (Trey) Heaton III, AnnaClaire Heaton, Kennedy Haley (Major), Wesley Thomas, Justin Thomas, and 1 great grandchild, Miller Ann Haley.
Friends are cordially invited to the memorial service being conducted on Friday, the 2nd of September, at Mountain Chapel United Methodist Church, located at 2541 Rocky Ridge Road, Birmingham, Alabama 35243. Services will commence at two o'clock in the afternoon.
