Charles Ricky Cain, 75, formerly of Cahaba Heights and more recently, Columbiana, Alabama, passed away in Randolph, Alabama on August 17, 2026. Born July 5, 1951, Charles Ricky lived a life marked by steady devotion to family, faithful friendships, and a work ethic that never asked for attention but earned enduring respect.
Ricky recently retired after serving 55 years as a truck driver, a long road that reflected both his diligence and his loyalty to the responsibilities he carried. He also found joy in the thrill of dirt track racing, and his adventurous spirit showed in the pursuits he loved—whether cheering on Alabama football or heading out to hunt. Through it all, Ricky’s humor and warmth were never far away, nor was his love for his family and friends.
Ricky was preceded in death by his father, Travis Cain. He is survived by his mother, Dorothy Nell Cain; his “baby girl”, Crystal “Mrs. Kravitz” Cain (Bubba); and brothers, Edward Cain (Kim) and Greg Cain (Brenda). Also left to treasure his memory are his four granddaughters, one great grandson, his cherished aunts and uncles, two nieces and his wonderful friends.
An avid lover of people, Ricky never met a stranger. He especially enjoyed going out to eat and trying different restaurants, and no matter where he went, he always seemed to know someone there—an enduring reflection of how beloved he was and how naturally he made room for others in his life.
Ricky will be remembered with gratitude and affection, and his memory will remain a steady presence in the lives of all who had the privilege to know and love him.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am until 11:00 at Cahaba Heights Baptist Church on August 24, 2026. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery.
