OBITUARY

Christopher D. PELTON

December 28, 1975July 6, 2019

Christopher Daniel Pelton, age 43, of Birmingham, AL passed away on Saturday, July 6. Chris was born in Tampa, Florida and was raised and educated in the state of Alabama, where he made his home. Chris formerly served as service manager in the automotive industry and was known by many car enthusiasts. He enjoyed meeting his friends on the links and visiting the greens of several Birmingham golf courses. Additionally, he enjoyed the solitude of calm waters and dropping a line. As a teen Chris was introduced to the Korean First Baptist congregation, which began meeting in the facilities of First Baptist Church Huntsville, where his dad served on staff. In the past few years Chris reconnected with this congregation and he grew in his love and respect for the people, as they did with him. It was a comfortable place of acceptance, worship and fellowship – even Kimchi.

Chris is survived by his Father, Alvin G. Pelton; his mother, Cheryl (Lennie); his sister and her family, Stephanie and Jeff Prior; a nephew and niece, William and Sarah Prior and a number of cousins. A private family graveside service will be held in Tampa. Blount & Curry Funeral Home at Garden of Memories will oversee services in Tampa. Local arrangements provided by Ridout’s Valley Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to either Mountain Brook Baptist Church Missions Fund, 3631 Montevallo Road, Birmingham, Al. 35213 or to the Korean First Baptist Church of Huntsville Missions Fund, 2807 Hood Road, SW, Huntsville, Al 35805.

Numbers 6:24-26. The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.
