Precious Virginia,  I grieve for the family and most especially you.  I know how much you loved Clarence and I'm sure he left you with beautiful memories.  You are in my thoughts and prayers.

My heart is broken in many pieces.  You were a wonderful human being.  You will always have a special place in my heart.  Clarence you will be missed, such a generous and warm heart, you are now an angel, fly high my friend! Love you always

We smile when we think of Clarence in his size 13 New Balace....suing M'tn Brook to stop lighting the field behind the school.  He will be missed.  Our very best to the entire extended family from your old Cambridge neighbors!

He was the most favorite attorney of my life, even though we lost our case where my son Jeff McCloud died in an accident it was not because he did not give it the fight of a life time, he put up a battle for nearly 5 years on this case. I give him the honor and praise that he deserves. He will truly be missed by all that had the honor on knowing him. Condolences to his family.

Clarence hired me at London, Yancey, Clark & Allen on August 2, 1975, and mere weeks from now 40 years ago.  Little did I know at the time what a profound effect he would have on my life.  His love of the law was contagious and he was an integral part of my 40 year career working in defense litigation here in Birmingham.  I would not be here now doing what I love if Clarence had not taken a chance on a 19-year-old girl who had no idea at the time where her life was going to take her and how rewarding her life would be helping lawyers prepare their cases for trial.  He introduced me to numerous lawyers, judges, court reporters and his very closest friends and gave me the confidence to reach higher than I ever thought imaginable.  He was always fun to be around (even in the office) and helped me through some very difficult times in my life.  Clarence was a very dear friend and I am deeply grateful to have had the opportunity to know and work for him.  He was truly a brilliant and amazing man and will be missed by all who knew him, especially me.

Deepest condolences to the family.  Enjoyed knowing Clarence in law school continuously since then.

Clarence and I grew up together since we were in the newborn nursery at St Vincents. Our families were long time friends. I kind of lost track lately (unfortunately) but I wish his family the condolence that can only come from God.  May he rest in peace.

Mr. McDorman was a dear friend of mine.  I will truly miss him.  Birmingham has lost a great man!

I had the pleasure of getting know Clarence over the past few years.  He really cut right to the chase and could always break up the monotony.  I appreciated working with him and just being around him to learn from his vast knowledge of the law.  I really respected him and admired what he did.  I will definitely miss Clarence.

Clarence is remembered fondly by my husband and myself.  Quite the character, he represented us about 15 years ago during a very difficult time and was simply masterful in bringing about a successful conclusion.  Thank you, Clarence.  You will be missed.

Clarence and Virginia were the first friends of Farley's I met when when we started dating. It was a wild ride!! Clarence and I came to be good friends. It so saddens me to know he is not with us. Comfort to you all and love, ML

Clarence and I met as little boys in the summer of 1942, and I have always thought of him as my oldest friend. His Mother was like my own. We played together every day, went Mentone to spend part of the summer, were Boy Scouts together,and roomed together for a college school year. Although we saw little of each other after I headed west in 1961 he still was someone I sought out when I returned to Birmingham every few years. So, goodbye old friend, I will miss you.
