Condolences to the Clayton "Ba" Smith Trammell family. I was at the University of Alabama at the same time Pat and "Ba" and Sue and Jimbo were there and enjoyed knowing them all. I also moved to Birmingham after graduation to attend law school and played on the Shell Oil basketball team with Pat Trammell and Bobby Jackson from Mobile.

Your sweet "Mama" and I taught 1st Grade together at Briarwood from 1988-1995. I loved her so much...such a fun, warm and loving lady. I remember how much she loved her "Little" Pat and Julianna. She was so happy and excited when grandbabies came along. When we first met, she told me about her loving Pat. I also remember how much she loved our Heavenly Father and how she applied her love for Him in our daily teaching of the children. Ba actually thought of the Bible verse that was the one we used for 1st Grade. It reads "Do not let kindness or truth leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart" Proverbs 3:3. To me that explains Ba Trammell.

To Ba's family please accept my deepest sympathies. My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a Godly life well lived in service of others.

She is now with Pat, her siblings Sue, Jimbo, her Mom, Bunch and Dad, Jim. I hope you find comfort in knowing that now you have a special guardian angel to watch over you.

I was a high school friend of Ba. She was such a delight. We were in the Student Council, majorettes, Methodist Church, and Vanity Club together. She was so bright, charming, and fun to be with. The earth is a sadder place today without her. Heaven has a new star! Anne Denton Heidelberg

Truly a great Lady in so many ways. She will be missed. She was such a big part of the lives of so many children. It was an honor to know her and I know she is HOME.
