Thompson, Clifford age 93 of Cahaba Heights, Alabama, passed away Friday, August 5, 2011. Cliff was born August 13, 1917 in Two Bit Gulch and raised in Deadwood, South Dakota with his brother and two sisters. He was a WWII veteran and served in the North Africa and Italy campaigns. He earned a BS from Ben Franklin University and he was a lifetime Mason. Cliff is survived by his wife of 67 years, Lorraine and his children Richard, Sue, Sharon, Michael, three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and many other beloved family members and friends. Services will be held Wednesday, August 10th at Ridout’s Valley Chapel in Homewood. Visitation will be from 10:00 – 11:00 and the funeral service will be at 11:00,followed by a reception at the funeral home. We welcome friends to wear casual clothing. We also ask for donations to Alzheimer's Disease education and research foundations in lieu of flowers.
