
She was the daughter of the late Virginia Whilldin Fox and Joseph Henry Fox and the granddaughter of David Oliver (D.O.) Whilldin, one of Birmingham’s early influential architects. Nina attended Brook Hill School and graduated cum laude from Hollins College. She was a member of Saint Luke’s Episcopal Church, the Country Club of Birmingham, The Club, Junior League of Birmingham, John Parke Custis DAR, Alabama Mayflower Society, Rockbrook Garden Club, Carousels and Harlequins Dance Clubs. Nina was a talented floral designer and loved Alabama football.
Nina was preceded in death by her husband Robert Chalmers Crumbaugh, Jr. She is survived by her daughter Virginia Crumbaugh “Ginger” Hollingsworth (Carey), her son Robert Chalmers “Ro” Crumbaugh, III (Laura), Grandchildren Carey Whilldin “Will” Hollingsworth (Jackie), Lee Ferguson Hollingsworth (Elizabeth), Morgan Crumbaugh Resha (Michael), Robert Chalmers “Chase” Crumbaugh, IV (Mauro Selinas), Kendall Crumbaugh Massa (Kenny) and Great Grandchildren Carter Lillian Resha, Britton B. Resha and Whilldin Fox Hollingsworth.
A Memorial service will be held at 11:00, Monday, September 23, 2024, at Saint Lukes Episcopal Church with a visitation at 10:00 in Graham Hall.
