David Giger Cook

avid G. Cook, 47, passed away on Thursday, September 1, 2016 at Grandview Medical Center after a brief illness. He is survived by his wife of 19 years Jana Acker Cook, and two daughters, Margaret Elizabeth and Rebecca Leigh. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at 3:00pm at Independent Presbyterian Church. David was born in Birmingham Alabama and was the owner of Vulcan Drapery Hardare. He was preceded in death by his mother Margaret Palmer Benton. He is survived by his father W Ralph Cook and stepmother Margaret E. Cook and three brothers W. Ralph Cook Jr (Suzanne), J. Houston Cook (Sheri) and Hayden K. Cook. He is also survived by his father and mother in law David and Virginia Acker, sister-in-law Juana, brother-in-law Anthony (Paula). He was also much loved by several nieces and nephews. He was a loving husband and devoted father. He enjoyed hunting, cooking, and spending time with family and friends. He loved art and was a wonderful artist. He also had a great flair for decorating. He was an avid Alabama football fan and loved his animals. He will be sorely missed.
