David Andrew Reidinger, 43, passed away Sunday, April 26, 2020. He is now in the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He is survived by his parents, Larry and Jean Reidinger; his daughter, Chloe; his brother, Josh, and sister-in-law, Whitney; his nieces, Ellen and Camille, and his nephew, JC. He is also survived by his aunt, Jane Creel, and his cousins Leigh Doran, Alan Creel and Paul Creel. He is also survived by his loving dog, Adele. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Dorothy and Norman Jennings, and GW and Ruby Bulman. David was devoted to his family and he fiercely loved them.
David was a dedicated employee at Avanti Polar Lipids and had developed an extended group of friends at Avanti. David took such pride in his work and found great purpose in his job. He spoke with such honor about his work. David’s family is so grateful to the Shaw Family and all the employees at Avanti who loved David and worked alongside him.
David had a special gift of making friends. He was loyal and made people feel special and important. As his family has reflected the past few days, the words “loving, tender and protective” kept coming up. Whether it was with his family or with his friends, if you knew David, you knew these words to be true.
David’s life was transformed by Jesus. Over the past two years, David’s life was altered by a pursuit of the Lord and a following of Jesus emerged. David’s faith was not one marked by pretense or religion. Instead, his faith was genuine and evident to all that knew David.
David will be dearly missed and by no one more than his devoted mother. Their relationship was a beautiful picture of the Gospel. Daily they found time to share stories and meaningful Scripture and devotions. They also shared a love of the outdoors and adventure. Most recently, they enjoyed attending the symphony together.
The family will have a private viewing at Ridout's Valley Chapel Friday morning. Friends are invited to join the family for a graveside service at Jefferson Memorial Garden Trussville on Friday at 2:00 PM. Following current guidelines, the family will be at the graveside and friends will remain in their cars close by. A speaker system along with Zoom will hopefully allow for those to experience this meaningful service. The funeral directors will guide those attending the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests gifts be made to Alabama Baptist Children’s Home Foster Care Program in memory of David Reidinger at https://www.alabamachild.org/give.
