

Born in Anniston, AL, Denise attended Mechanicsville Elementary and later Walter Wellborn High School, class of 1967. Denise continued her education at Jacksonville State University where she earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Education. Denise also went on to earn a Master of Science Degree in Education from Jacksonville State University.
A beloved elementary school teacher at Bynum Elementary School, where she taught first grade until the school’s closing in 1999. She finished her career at Coldwater Elementary and retired from education after 30 years in 2002.
Denise loved to travel, some of her most memorable trips included sailing around the Caribbean with friends, going to Super Bowl XXX in Arizona, and Auburn’s National Championship victory also in Arizona. Denise was an excellent cook. There wasn’t a recipe that she couldn’t improve by adding her special touch. Denise was very proud of her six grandchildren. She was affectionately called Ninee or Nici by many friends and family.
Denise is preceded in death by her father, Charles Franklin Amerson, her mother, Willie Davis Amerson, and her sister, Connie Amerson Lovelace. She is survived by her beloved husband of many years, Tilghman Anderson Turner IV, of Anniston, AL. Denise’s children are Tara Turner Greene, Tilghman Anderson Turner V (Paula), Larry Amerson Turner, and Andrea Turner Dunn (Dallas). Her grandchildren are Gavin John Greene, Tilghman Anderson Turner VI, Gabrielle Jonet Greene, Georgia Elizabeth Turner,
Brannon Elijah Dunn, and Turner Charles Dunn.
