Born in Birmingham to Kenneth and Juanita Johnson, she stayed at home to raise her family, and later chose to work with her mother in the medical office of Dr. Helen Thrasher, a close friend. In 1999, she married Rick D. Taylor and celebrated 23 wonderful years with him in October. All of her family and friends knew that she loved her family fiercely and was the proudest parent to both Wendy and Jennifer. She loved gardening and horticulture and was known for her beautiful handiwork in every place she lived. She also had a keen eye for decorating and looked forward every year to putting up lavish Christmas decorations, following traditions she began for her family many years ago. She will be remembered for her fighting spirit and determination in the face of challenge, most notably cancer.
She is survived by her husband, Rick D. Taylor, her daughters Wendy Wolford Holmes (Sean) and Jennifer Nicole Wolford (David Hornbuckle), her father, Kenneth Johnson (Betty), and her brother, Ron Johnson (Kim).
A memorial service will be held at Skyline Village Retirement Community, 260 Goodwin Crest Drive, Birmingham, AL 35209, on Wednesday, November 30, from 10am until 11am.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.ridoutsvalleychapel.com for the Taylor family.
