Donald Barry Patton

Donald Barry Patton went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, November 17, 2012. He was born in Birmingham, Alabama to Ira and Clara Patton on August 31, 1928. Don was a very loving and supportive husband, father and grandfather and all who shared his life will miss him and his quick wit and depth of wisdom; he was the true ‘north star’ of the family. Don was a very talented photographer and pianist. He enjoyed a long career of 45 years as a television broadcast engineer; chief engineer at WKRG TV in Mobile AL and WBRC Fox in Birmingham. Don is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Mary Evelyn Patton, four children Barry Patton, Derek Patton (Pam), Brant Patton (Lori) and Donna Patton Harris and his sister Janice Conrad (David). He was blessed with 7 grandchildren Allyson Patton, Brittany Peyton, Allen Harris (Ashley), Jordan Harris, Marisa Patton, Courtney Patton and Braxton Patton and also one great grandson, Jackson Peyton. Visitation will take place on Friday, November 23rd at Ridout’s Valley Chapel in Homewood, Alabama, beginning at 10:30 am with a service in his honor and memory following at 12:00 pm. Donald Barry Patton, a life well lived, a life worthy of our celebrations.
