Donna Klinner Talbot, 85, passed away peacefully at her home with her family on December 21, 2020 after a long battle with multiple sclerosis. She attended Randolph Macon Woman’s College and graduated from Auburn University with a degree in music education. She was a talented pianist and shared that talent teaching music. She was active in many civic organizations and was a past president of the Charity League, UAB Faculty Women’s Club, ADPi Alumni, Amulets Dance Club and Queen of Spades Garden Club. She enjoyed playing bridge with her friends, playing the piano and attending Auburn football games in the fall and UAB basketball games in the winter. She and her husband Tommy enjoyed traveling throughout the United States, around the world including unique locations.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Vivian Jones Klinner and William Herbert Klinner, her sister, Carolyn Klinner Parker and her granddaughter, Virginia Talbot Markle. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Thomas Fletcher Talbot and her three daughters, Teresa Talbot, Melanie Talbot Booker (Tom) and Grace Talbot Pate (Cole). She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Corinna Pidgeon, Bobby Pidgeon, Lily Pidgeon, Tee Pidgeon, John Markle (Anna Grace), Matthew Pate, and Sarah Pate; and two great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Emily Klinner Haralson and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the caregivers for their assistance during her final days. Due to the coronavirus, a graveside service for family will be held on Wednesday, December 23rd at Oak Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, Shades Valley Presbyterian Church, or your favorite charity.
