GREEN, DOROTHY M. Beloved mother and grandmother, passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at the age of 95. Dot was a long time resident of Homewood, AL and lived with her daughter, Pam Gardner, in Vestavia, AL for the past 5 years. Dot graduated from Ramsey High School and received her Bachelor of Science degree from Birmingham Southern College in 1940 where she was a member of Gamma Phi Beta Sorority. Dot taught 3rd grade at Edgewood Elementary School. For 22 years Dot ran a tavern, with her mother and sister, on the Southside of Birmingham called "The Dutchman". Dot was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ross Green to whom she was married for 50 years. Dot is survived by her two daughters, Pam Gardner (husband Mike of Vestavia, AL and Patsy Koethcke (husband Maben) of Destin, FL. Dot has four grandchildren, Jill Osborne of Raleigh, NC, Robin Koethcke of Los Angeles, CA, Jim Gardner of Chicago, IL, and Grant Gardner of Vestavia, AL In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to All Saints Episcopal Church, 110 West Hawthorne Road, Homewood, AL 35209. Services will be at All Saints Episcopal Church on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at 2PM.
