

Earlean W. Roberson, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother peacefully entered eternal rest on Friday, July 11, 2025. She was born on January 30, 1936, in Hamilton, Alabama to Bessie and Alvin Wiginton. She graduated from Hamilton High School in 1954 and moved to Birmingham. After a brief career in banking and financial services, she began working at Samford University in March 1973. After almost 28 years of service, she retired in January 2001. She also graduated from Samford in 1987.
Earlean was a loving and faithful member of Raleigh Avenue Baptist Church for over 50 years. Her life and service to God exemplified a servant's heart through Christian service and the various ministries she served in Raleigh Avenue. She made the gospel of Christ visible to her family by her daily life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her twin sister and best friend Willodean Sullins, sisters Beatrice Harris, Inez Crow, and Lorene Irvin. Earlean is survived by her husband of almost 69 years Dale T. Roberson, sons; Gregory Roberson and Darrell Roberson (Eleanor), grandsons:Forrest Roberson (Mary Caroline), John Roberson, and Joseph Roberson (Sarah-Beth), and great-grandsons; Beau, Jack, Hank, and Duke Roberson. Also to cherish her loving memories are her twin sister's son, Brian Atkins (Kathi, deceased) and daughter, Sheri Fitzgerald (Lee) and numerous nephews,nieces and cousins.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday, July 16th beginning at 11:00am at Raleigh Avenue Baptist Church and with the funeral service following at 12:00pm. Burial will be at the Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo on Thursday, July 17th at 10:15 am.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of Earlean may be made to Raleigh Avenue Baptist Church, 309 Raleigh Ave., Homewood, AL 35209 or Woman's Missionary Union.
