Eddie Frances Sherrod died on October 5, 2011. Mrs. Sherrod was born on August 11, 1917 to Ephraim and Cora Smith. She loved art, especially painting and drawing, in addition to speaking and reading the French language. Mrs. Sherrod was a long time member of Independent Presbyterian Church. She had a life long love of animals and never turned away a stray. She was preceded in death by her husband, James B. Sherrod, Jr.; brother, Eric E. Smith and son in law Beach Chenoweth, III. She is survived by her daughter, Judy Chenoweth; granddaughter, Frances Fraser; grandson, James Dow Chenoweth of Huntsville and great grandchildren, Allie and Madeline Fraser. The family will receive friends on Friday, October 7, 2011 at Ridout's Valley Chapel in Homewood, 5:00 - 7:00. Graveside services will be held on Saturday October 8, 2011 at Elmwood Cemetery at 2:00.
