
Edwynna Simpson Trawick passed away on October 31, 2015. She was born on December 28, 1933 to Myrtle and George Edward Simpson in Birmingham, Alabama. She graduated from Woodlawn High School where she was a cheerleader and was honored as Miss Huffman. She earned a bachelor’s degree from The University of Alabama where she met her husband, Dan Trawick. Edwynna taught in the City of Birmingham school system and later helped her husband in their construction business for more than fifty years. She enjoyed cooking, cats, traveling, the beach, sports and following the Tide, above all she loved her family.
Edwynna is preceded in death by her husband, Dan G. Trawick, III and her parents Myrtle and George Edward Simpson. She is survived by her sister, Jacqueline “Jackie” S. Wilson; her brother George Edward Simpson II (Beth); her children Vista Trawick Nelson (Eric), Dan G. “Brother” Trawick, IV (Marla), Virginia “Ginny” Trawick Farley (Joe); and her grandchildren Dan G. “Danny” Trawick V, Anthony Sherrill “Tony” Trawick, Darcy Dean Mosley (Joe), Lara Randle Dean, William Bryan Dean, Alexander James Nelson, Erica Claire Nelson, Christopher Trawick Nelson, Nicholas Anthony Nelson, Joseph McConnell “Mac” Farley, III, and Virginia Murray Farley.
Following a private family burial, funeral Services will be held at the Cathedral Church of the Advent at 3:00 PM on Wednesday November 4th followed by a visitation.
