Elsie Sue Loftness Dean

Elsie Sue Loftness Dean of Birmingham, Alabama passed away peacefully on June, 8th 2018. She was born in Waterford, Michigan May 6th, 1946. She graduated from Waterford Kettering High School and attended Western Michigan University. Elsie loved her family and friends and cherished being with them. She leaves behind a legacy of kind heartedness, unselfishness, genuine love and compassion for others. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of over 47 years Charles Robert Dean, Jr. Elsie is survived by her son Charles Robert Dean III (Mary Beth), grandchildren Emily Elizabeth, Caroline Siler and Charles Robert "Rob" IV, brother Delyle Hibler (Jackie). She was predeceased by her parents, Einar and Dorothy Loftness, sister Sharon Leclair and nephew Stephen Leclair. The family would like to thank Fairhaven Retirement Community for their loving care and dedication. A funeral mass will be Thurs. June 14th at 11:00 am at St. Perpetua Catholic Church in Waterford, Michigan visitation is prior at 9:30 am. Internment at All Saints Cemetery in Waterford, Michigan following mass. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Roman Catholic Diocese of Birmingham, 2121 3rd Avenue North, Birmingham, AL 35203.

Thinking of Aunt Elsie with the fondest of memories. She loved her family and was so proud of them! Her smile could light up any room. Her laugh was contagious and her witty personality put a smile on all of our faces. I will always remember her faith, kindness, and strength. She will always have a special place in our hearts. Sending our love, prayers, and deepest condolences to the Dean family.

Her smile was radiant, her voice always so pleasant, her kindness was a breath of spring all year round. What a blessing to our family and everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. She left us with wonderful memories, with each of us having our own cherished one. Our condolences to Chuck and Marybeth, their children and the entire Dean and Loftness families.
