Ethelyn O McPeters

August 14, 1925 – June 18, 2026

Ethelyn O’Keefe McPeters was born August 14, 1925, and passed away peacefully in her sleep on June 18, 2026.

She met her husband, J.B. McPeters, after receiving a letter from him during his basic Marine training. They married just as WWII was coming to a close. Together they lived a life centered around family, church, and friends.

Ethelyn had the confidence of all believers that she would be in heaven with our loving Lord and His Son Jesus, where her beloved husband was waiting for her.

She was a longtime resident of Kirkwood by the River, where she recently celebrated her 100th birthday surrounded by family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband and survived by her two children, John Sidney McPeters (Ranea) and Lynn Smith; four grandchildren, Tylee Smith Kessler (Bill), Nathan Smith (Carolyn), Shelly Bullard (Donnie), and Lara Fretwell (Brian); and eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Wednesday, June 24, in the chapel at Kirkwood from 1:00–2:00 p.m., followed by a service from 2:00–3:00 p.m
